So the Round 3 prompt is BALANCING ACT, and it needs two different parts. So we could have a fic & art collaboration, art where two people each draw half, a fic with two different points of view in it, etc etc. Any ideas and suggestions?

PPS: Has the team had any discussions about what to do for the Collab Round prompt? I just remembered I still need to get on Pesterchum, so I'm wondering if I missed anything there.

Whoops, guess we'd all better get on that...

I emailed the mods to make sure I understood the prompt right, and they said it was fine to contribute with art - doing two pieces that balance each other somehow, or to mix art and fic, or whatever. Anything so long as there were balanced halves.

I feel this round seems very hmm...open? as if you can basically do anything... which sorta makes it harder with the themes @@

Since they said the two pieces should balance each other out... That we have an art submission and a fic submission, one with a very dark theme and one with a very light and happy theme, yet both with the same prompt?
Like, for example, we could have a fic based around Karkat and Nepeta being very happy and cheery in the dreambubbles and doing everything they want to, etc etc... but then the art submission is something like, a picture of their opposing dead bodies.
The fluff would be cute alone and the sadstuck would be beautiful alone, but together I think they would be really excellent?
I am open for ficwriting for this round.
(I had some ideas for the collab round, if anyone wants to talk to me about it)

I think the fluff would be better off as a fic and then the art will be stunning sadstuck, which is basically what Aiden said |D

Wow I really love this idea a lot omfg. And I definitely think the fic should be the happy one and the art should be sad.

I really want to draw something for this round but my tablet's broken ; A; This has happened once before and it randomly started working again but I think this time I'm going to have to get it sent off somewhere for it to be properly fixed. But I'd be happy to help in any other way I can, whether it's by betaing fics, etc.

EDIT: My tablet works again! There was a notification for a driver update that I hadn't seen. oTL I'm still happy to help out in any way possible, but now I can finally submit something myself.

The rules for this one said that the two different parts of the submission should have the same complexity, so maybe there should be more than one picture? Like, a panel of Karkat/Nepeta in danger, then reacting in some way, and then dead.

what ideas have you got for the collab round? *curious*

I really also like the idea of the fluffy fic and sad art, but maybe a different idea?
like maybe the whole thing is centered around Nepeta's death? Like the fic could be what is running through her mind like all missed opportunities with karkat and stuff, but the pictures will be of what is actually happening, like her laying in her own pool of blood and drawing the scenes from what she is thinking with her blood maybe?

That'd be neat. I guess I'd like to try my hand at a fic too, just so I feel like I'm at least putting my input as well.

how are things coming? my pesterchum hasn't been working so i'm afraid i'm not too caught up.
do we know who is doing the art for this round, etc?
also, my idea for the collab round is trans!nepkat. I could do a cosplay for that (comfortably) and I also think it would fit the theme: "Aberration: the act of deviating from the ordinary, usual, or normal type." But I mean, i know it might be strange for some of y'all so I want to hear your guys thoughts about it.

I think a collab thing would be wonderful. It'd be interesting.

I also think it'd be neat to do a Trans!Nepeta thing, I guess I'm just not a hundred percent on how that ties into Nepeta <3 Karkat.
